Technical Writing

Technical writing is a niche form of business writing used to record and distribute information to target audiences on a wide range of technical or other specialised topics. The first question a technical writer should ask is: who is the audience?

TMDI's specialist technical writers can produce all types of documentation for IT, engineering, other technical, business and consumer audiences, from boardroom to workshop.

These include policies, procedures, safe work instructions, manuals, user guides, white papers, design specifications, project and test plans, to name just a few.

Instructional Design

At TMDI Instructional design is the systematic process of designing, developing and delivering instructional resources and other learning materials.

It is the systematic development of specifications using learning and instructional theory to ensure the quality of instruction.

Document Management

TMDI can support the selection and implementation of document management systems, to track and store all versions of documents, as modified by multiple users.

We are independent of all vendors and first ensure that existing systems are being used effectively.

Training Professional

TMDI has extensive experience in the broad fields of business and management training, but always with a special interest in communication skills.

Since our formation in 1981, we have honed our skills in the development and management of courseware for our own classroom, online and blended learning programs.

From 2004 we began offering this expertise to our clients, rather than just deploying it for our own courseware.

Training Needs Analysis

TMDI A Training Needs Analysis (or Assessment) is the process used to identify what training is required, by whom and by when. It is the starting point for designing an effective training program. It may also be called a “needs analysis,” a “training needs assessment,” a “performance assessment,” or something else.

A TNA is simply the process of reviewing and evaluating a performance issue to determine its root cause, then offer one or more solutions.
